Update- Summer 2007: Unfortunately I lost the item below (Nodal Ninja SPH-1 w/ the Manfrotto 300N)while hiking in the Catskills after a couple of years of use. After some research on the internet regarding newer panoramic tripod heads I again decided on the Nodal Ninja- The Nodal Ninja version 3. While I do miss the Manfrotto device I do like the Nodal Ninja 3.

I have yet to see or use the newer Nodal Ninja models. From what I have read on their site some of the adjustments I made below to SPH-1 have been incorporated with the newer model- Nodal Ninja 2 and 3. I like my Ninja Nodal and would highly recommend it. The adjustments I have made below to the SPH-1 have made it a lot easier and a lot quicker to get accurate consistent panoramic photographs.

The above left picture is the Nodal Ninja SPH-1. Since purchasing this tripod head I have made a few modifications. The above pictures also shows the Manfrotto 300N Panoramic Head attached to the Nodal Ninja. I initialed bought the Nodal Ninja for use with the Sony 828.

After purchasing the Nikon D70 with 10.5 Fisheye Lens my Nodal Ninja bracket was not long enough to obtain a picture of the zenith (upwards shot.) Using some aluminum I extended the bracket. The Nodal Ninja 3 now has a longer arm for DSLR cameras thus allowing for the zenith shot.

I also made an adjustment on the arm that attaches to the camera. I filed off some of the threads on a knob that now gets screwed into the camera. This allows the aluminum bracket that I made to stay on when the camera is not attached. The camera can now be easily screwed on and off by hand with the outside knob. Also the aluminum piece length is cut to the nodal point of 10.5 lens. I push this piece to the rear and the tripod hole gets matched with the proper nodal point for my lens.

"Most Used" Installed Software

I have several various programs installed on my computer and have tried many others. Below are my 3 current favorites that I use most often. Two of which are free and one is a low-cost purchase as compared to other panoramic software.
