Deutsche Bank lost four employees in the September 11th terrorist attacks. The $400,000 fountain was part of a $1.2 million renovation of the surrounding plaza, known as the Wall Street triangle. The fountain also serves as a reminder of a similar one that used to stand outside the former Deutsche Bank building at 130 Liberty Street, which was destroyed on 9/11 and is still undergoing demolition.
