Moab, Utah |
| |
|
Moab
is a great little town found approximately 40 miles south of
Interstate-70. It is centrally located to Arches NP, Canyonlands NP,
Dead Horse SP, along with many other great spots. Moab has many
restaurants, small shops, and a great deal of motel choices.

Arches National Park |

|
A short drive just outside of Moab is the symbol that is found on
the Utah license plate. Delicate Arch is reached by a 1.5 mile hike.
The hike is simple and kids are able to do it. But don't be fooled
the elevation is over 6,000 feet and a lot of the hike is a steep
slope. Bring water. Temperatures reach over 90 degrees in the summer
months. The third photo to the right shows the actual size of
Delicate Arch. The bottom photos shows the last part of the hike.
One does not see the Arch until the final turn around the rocks. The
final turn of the path can be seen in the left side of the bottom
photo. |

Canyonlands National Park |
| |
|
Canyonlands National Park preserves a
colorful landscape of sedimentary sandstones eroded into countless
canyons, mesas and buttes by the Colorado River and its tributaries.
Perhaps the only other National Park to compare it to is the
infamous Grand Canyon. |
